Good morning,

With the long weekend stretching ahead like a golden opportunity, I'm rolling up my sleeves for a seasonal project I've been eagerly anticipating: transforming a pile of fresh pumpkins (free, donated by a kind neighbor after taking down her Halloween decorations) into jarred treasures for my pantry. There's something deeply satisfying about spending these extra hours surrounded by the earthy scent of cooked pumpkin, knowing that come late winter, I'll be opening jars of autumn sunshine to brighten those cold winter mornings.

My kitchen will become a cozy production line of chopping, roasting, and filling sterilized jars with silky pumpkin chunks. Into the pressure canner they'll go! While others might be hitting the trails or catching up on sleep, It's the kind of slow, purposeful work that makes a long weekend feel truly well-spent.
